Ky M. Kobayashi, MD

Dr. Ky Kobayashi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in conditions affecting the hand and upper extremities. He routinely performs arthroscopic joint reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder reconstruction as well as other orthopedic surgeries. As a sports medicine expert, he treats athletes of all ages suffering from overuse and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Kobayashi graduated from the US Air Force Academy and then served in the Air Force for many years. He has extensive experience in combat casualty care from his multiple deployments where he served in combat zones. He has served as staff and assistant orthopedic residency program director for the USAF in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Kobayashi has also been team physician for the Air Force Division I hockey team and was elected to serve on the Board of Specialties for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Actively involved in research and education, Dr. Kobayashi has given many orthopedic lectures as well as been published in peer-reviewed journals. He also serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.

Physician Assistant

Dana serves as a physician assistant for Dr. Kobayashi specializing in upper extremity and sports medicine orthopedic care. Her duties include managing patients in the clinic, fracture care and assisting cases in the operating room. She is proficient in shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries as well as diagnosis and treatment of chronic orthopedic issues.

Prior to joining the upper extremity team, Dana graduated from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ and subsequently completed a 1-year advanced fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. As a certified physician assistant since 2010, Dana has extensive experience with patient care in both a primary care and orthopedic setting.
